Wear traditional yet modern attire in your wedding

Hello my friends. How are you all?

Hope all of you are doing great. How many of you are crazy silk lovers? Well myself is one them. I am a die heart silk fan. For me it is THE CLASS. It is never old in the trend. Its light weight, velvety and smooth fabric makes me love it most. It is so light in weight that anyone can find it comfortable to handle.

So today's blog post is all about silk in weddings. If you want to make your own trend with some guidelines, keep reading the post till the end.

Bangladesh is a country which is best known for its traditional garments wear.  Jamdani, silk, muslin, pure cotton and tangail saries are traditional handloom attires of the country. If we look back in the past, silk was first discovered by the Chinese in 22 BC but gradually it spread throughout the world, even in Bangladesh. Specially Rajshahi division in Bangladesh produces quality silk fabric. Its silk sarees and salwar kameezes are not only famous across the country but also in the world.

Usually Bangladeshi weddings are very sparkly and bright. Red has been the traditional color for weddings in this region. But recently brides are choosing different colors like, light pink, magenta, blue, purple and yellow for their wedding attire. Also silk Banarasi Saree is a growing trend among the brides. In this blog post I will be trying to bring you some modern silk attires for your dream wedding along the addresses where you can find them. So let's begin.

This is the first saree that totally grabbed my attention. It is a pure silk saree with heavy golden border; also some zari and sequenced work totally lift it up. It doesn't have much heavy work on it but it looks very delicate. It will beautifully go with any gold, kundan or Pearl set jewelries. For this wedding saree, a cream muslin dupatta with same amount and pattered zari work would definitely make you look absolutely stunning. You will look no less than a red carpet celebrity.

collected from an Indian boutique house. But these saries are available in kolkata shopping malls also you can check them out in mirpur banarasi palli.

How beautiful this silk sari is!!

Heavy saree is the signature piece of any Bengali bride. So, this silk saree has heavy net brocade embroidery work from half of the body till achal. The color is very royal and very sophisticated. If you are like me who is very much into light colors like, white and cream, I am sure you will love this saree. Pearl and platinum is definitely the jewelry for this saree. You can also wear gold jewelry with pearl on it.

As mentioned before that red is the traditional bridal color for Bangladeshi weddings. So, without a red saree this blog cannot be complete. This is a pure silk Kanjeevaram saree. I personally do not like too much heavy work on sarees. I somehow feel it is more beautiful and chic if there is less work on it. So, for people like me this is the best sari which traditional as well as modern.

AHH white is here!!!! :D How many of you dream of a beautiful white gown? I am sure there must be many of you who have slimier dream like me. Some of you may have the opportunity to afford a gown but some of you may not. Fulfill your wish wearing a beautiful white base silk saree with detailed zari work. Just have a visit in Banarasi Polli, you will be so amazed by their collection of white silk saries.

These two Katan Silk Saries are my favorites. The above one is very sweet in peachy color with gold zari work and also some pop up of pastel blue colored on its pallu. It is just amazing in one word.

The other one is also a pink Katan Saree. Mix it with a pink blouse and silver muslin dupatta. So traditional I must say. This is collected from a local boutique house. I don't recognize the name at the moment but I will add the name later.

In Bangladesh, there are many boutique houses who are also working on silk fabric. From them Aarong and Sapura silk corner have quite a good collection of silk saries. They have unique and quality products which are famous not only in the country, even outside the country. This sari is an Aarong product. What I like most about this sari is, there are three different color shades used in this sari. It has traditional red and mixture of turquoise blue and a shade of light green as well.

Other than Aarong there some small boutique houses like Andeem located in Banani, Dhaka also has a collection of silk saries. Some of them are special bridal attire. They have quite a variety of colors with modern touch.

Like this one in neon green and black in the border. I bet you will look so classy in this sari as a bride. The base color of the sari is itself so nice that it doesn't require to wear much jewelry. You can complete this look by adding a gray dupatta having neon green, black and silver zari work on its borders. So classy !!

Generally black color is not used in weddings. But if you want to go out of the box and experiment, you may go with such silk sari which has a bright color pallu and heavy gold work on it. According to Sabyasachi Mukharjee you will be "THE NOIR" bride. Also in western culture the more unique your wedding is the better it is appreciated. So can't we be a little brave and be THE NOIR BRIDE?

My personal tip would be, in case of choosing a black bridal saree, choose the heavy zari worked ones. As they will  lighten the black color, if you don't want too much black. Now rest is up to you. But please don't forget to share with Wedding Lantern.

Finally, without a Banarasi silk saree may be no Bangladeshi wedding blog can be complete. This is one of my very favorite pictures of Bipasha apu in her wedding day. She is wearing a heavy Banarasi Silk Saree. Well Banarasi serees are mainly silk saree with heavy work of gold zari and silver work. It is comparatively heavier than pure silk sari. It is famous for its minakari work on its body.

Another friend of my Rezwana wore a beautiful hot red Banarasi silk sari in her big day. Isn't she looking so beautiful?

However, here are just some of my chosen bridal saries. If you have more please don't forget to share. And if you want to get a guest version of silk saries, please do let me know in the comment.
See you in my next post and till then

                                    Bye
