Start planning wedding steps by steps

Adios, Salut, Saluton, Kumusta, Hola and Namashkar …

How are the planning, tension and anxiety going on? Are you in dilemma thinking from where should you start? Then I hope this post can be a help for you.

Before I start writing this post, I did a lot of research on internet and on many of my married friends. There are several post and ideas you can get in internet but mostly on a year planning. So, it struck me off thinking about those weddings which held within a week or a month planning. Even my brother’s wedding was also a sudden one that was arranged within a week preparation. Therefore, so much pressure and so many arrangements had to be done in a short period of time. I personally do not prefer such weddings but what else you can do if it happens.

In order to help you remain organized and tension free (at least a little) in any situations, I found out a few tips for you that definitely is going to be a help. It will help you to be on the track and organized. But, before I proceed to the main topic, I would like to say this chronological order is not fixed. Hence, you can reorganize the steps according to your priority.

So, let’s begin-

Step no. 1
Make a draft planning of the wedding. Such as fixing the date, wedding venue, theme, decorations, programs, bridal and groom’s attire and of course the budget. It should be draft that will help you to have a focus point or goal before you start to walk.

Step no. 2

Go for a market research on the venue. After that try to choose 5 wedding venues and start gathering information about them all. It will be helpful for you to choose the best one or two from them. Also if some of them are not available on your due date then you can have other options to go for.

You should look for information like the size of the hall and its
capacity of guests, their packages for wedding etc. In between this you can also start looking for the perfect place or boutique for your wedding attire but do not fix without checking other shops. Do survey on the price and the materials as well. And if you are like me who is very much into custom made wear and choosey then you got to research a lot. Try to Collect contact numbers of the wedding attire shops and venues from internet or from friends. Finally after a long survey get your's and groom’s attire for the big day. Remember dream wedding comes once in a lifetime so make it memorable in every way.

Step no. 3

Hire a wedding planner!!

If you are really busy and cannot find time to plan by yourself then I would suggest you to go for a wedding planner. You might ask if you go for a wedding planner then why you would need to research on venues and do a draft planning. Well, by doing some research on specific venues you can understand and compare the pricing. You can also bargain if you think they are demanding a lot. Additionally, before you appoint any task you must give some instructions for the better work. Therefore your ideas and you draft planning will be a great help even for the planner.

Step no. 4

Make a timeline!! Prepare a timeline of your wedding focusing all the due dates and tasks. Distribute it to the planner and all the other in the organizing crew with specific contact no. By doing so, they will be able to stick to the timeline and whenever necessary can make a call to the specific person. Remember give contact no. of the reliable person who will be available throughout the process till the very big day.

Step no. 5

Start working on invitation cards. There are a couple of companies that make best invitation cards in Dhaka and also in Chittagong. My personal suggestion would be to go for a company that has varieties of collection. By that I mean varies in designs and in programs like sangeet, wedding, Reception and etc. Some companies also offer custom made invitation cards. And, if you purchase all your invitation cards for all the programs, you are likely to have some discount too. Moreover it reduces hassle of roaming into too many card companies for different programs.  Later, as soon as you get invitation cards on hand, distribute them. If you are appointing someone to distribute the cards make sure you write the addresses correctly. Because there is a high possibility that cards might be delivered to wrong addresses. So be careful.

Step no. 6

Finally, Make the final budget and stick to it no matter what comes ahead. Last but not the least, always keep yourself up to date about the planning and works done by the wedding crew.

However, having an organized wedding is a dream of every bride. In order to arrange an organized wedding every small part of it is as important as the other, from choosing the right wedding theme, right venue till right wedding attire and accessories. Hope these given step will be helpful for you to organize the dream wedding. If you have anything to add, query, advice or your experience please feel free to comment bellow.
So, Happy planning and will catch up in my next blog. Till then
